The book covers the period between the birth of Greek city states to the end of Macedonian reign. Very preliminary reading - but absolutely entertaining. One can finish the book in 3-4 hours - provided your phones and FB is turned off. The SECOND book is a southern novel My Antonia - it is an absolute treat in reading - lucid, soft, easy and romantic - full of nostalgia - one feels growing up at the end of the reading. Go for both.
