An Alumna Writes Back

Good morning sir!

I hope the message finds you in good health. Its that time of the year again when all you hear in Logophiles is the sound of laptop keyboards. I am done with my first term and it went pretty decent thanks to all those essays, add infos, supplements, and research papers. Rejections after rejections. I remember being frustrated after every rejection. I remember being overwhelmed with all the reading materials, the number of essays we had to write, and also your “NO,s” every time I came up with a research paper idea. I remember being on the verge of giving up so many times.

But now, that I look back in time, I feel like I learnt about a lot of things in my school over the 14 years of being a Sunnydalian. But 5 months at Logophiles taught me how to be a “student”. Our discussions at Logophiles after every reading assignment helped me participate in class discussion more here at the university. All those rejections helped me write each and every paper I wrote here to perfection. The overwhelming work load helped me deal with the work load here with ease when others around me were having a hard time. If I could tell something to 1 year younger me in your class at this very time last year, I would tell myself to hold on and keep going because it is going to be worth it.

I am currently working on 2 papers for my Professor which he wanted me to work on. The first paper is about Britain’s exit from the EU and its aftermath. The second paper is about how Bangladesh turned out to be the winner of the trade war between America and China.

I will travel to Chicago, Boston, NY and DC over the next two weeks while also working on these papers. I was going through the blog today and the recent posts made me nostalgic. I would love to know about how things are going at Logophiles and also about your health. But I also understand how busy everything on your end now.
