Why Major: MOST Difficult Task in College Application

Writing a "Why Major" (YM) Essay is the first step towards reaching your Academic Goals and the MOST Crucial statement regarding your application documents. Over the years, I had been beseeching, fighting, hugging, and lambasting my students over writing this single most important Essay. This essay will become part of the personality that you will become. In the subsequent posts, I will try to explain what EXACTLY I want to see in a Top Quality YM Essay. 

I do NOT expect that you will stick to 100% of my advice and illustrations and examples. However, you will at least realize that writing this YM essay is not an easy task and it is FAIR ENOUGH to feel Frustrated over the extraordinary Complexity of the essay.    

Over the years I have received extremely Dull and Horrific Why Major Essays that smell of School Textbook intro or newspaper reports on a particular subject. Rarely, if ever, I read an essay that is (1) informative, (2) ambitious, (3) tough-bite for layman. A whole 99.99% of these essays are simple trash. I am aware that using this word "trash" is objectionable. But before trying to send me a Super-simple Why Major Essay, try to understand why this Essay will Haunt you till the end of time. Then with adequate amount of Trepidation in your heart, you can send me an Essay that is minimally Readable.
